Exploration of Edinburgh reveals a culture that is as varied as the
architecture. The city is steeped in history and its skyline is
    dominated by the famous castle.

The shopper has a field day here, but if the hustle and bustle of the
main street gets too much there are always the well maintained parks
and gardens in which to relax and unwind.

Spectacular views often await at the end of an alleyway in the 'Old
Town,' whilst the more modern architecture of the 'New Town' is also
pleasing to the eye, since it was largely built back in the Georgian
    era!

Museums, art galleries, concert halls and theatres offer a further
    cultural experience.

breakfast meeting, meeting for 2 people, Christmas party or an annual

    for utter relaxation.

Each bedroom has its own characteristics, borrowed from our Scottish
heritage, which offers a true refuge in which to relax or escape. The
striped carpets and paint colours in the bedrooms have the earthy colours of
the moors, mists and heathers that one associates with Scotland. Natural
fabrics were used throughout: linens, silks,
wools and leather and introduced on headboards, valances and comfortable
    armchairs.

A warm welcome to the The Balmoral in the heart of Edinburgh from me, Joseph
Winders, Head Concierge at the hotel, and my team.

The Balmoral is situated in the heart of Edinburgh and is well
serviced by all means of transport. Edinburgh Airport is situated
eight miles west from The Balmoral and will take approximately 25 minutes by
    car.

When departing Edinburgh International Airport, follow signs for the
A8 and Edinburgh City Centre. This will take you through the suburb
of Corstorphine, passing Edinburgh Zoo on your left and Murrayfield Stadium
on your right. You will soon approach the Haymarket district of the city.

Keep following City Centre signs into the West End junction of Princes
Street. You will then come into a one-way system that takes you through
Charlotte Square and onto Queen Street; follow Queen Street to its full
length. This leads into York Place, passing the National Portrait Gallery on
your right, before eventually reaching a roundabout.
Take the second exit and keep in your right-hand lane. This is Leith Street.
At the end of Leith Street you will come to a set of major traffic lights -
at this point you will see The Balmoral on your
right. At this set of traffic lights take a right turn onto Princes
Street. You will now be at The Balmoral, where our Doorman will
welcome you and look after your vehicle. Please note, we have no car park
on-site; however, our Doorman will park your car in our secure garage,
located off-site. The cost is ?0 per night.

The hotel is situated next to Waverley Station, where we will meet
you from your train, taking you to the hotel by taxi.

Whilst you are here, I hope you will have time to explore and take
in the history, sights and sounds of this magical city.

I have put together a list of recommended restaurants in the city
and also some of the major attractions you may wish to visit during your
    stay.

If you would like any further information on any activities or would
like me to personally organise a plan for your visit, please send me
    an e-mail.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Balmoral, and please do not
hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.
